Don’t listen to movie reviews, go make up your own mind about movies — GeekTyrant

A lot of people have pointed out that the movie review community has gotten pretty cynical these days. And you know what? They are right ! Don’t get me wrong, I see why movie reviews are important to the industry. However, I may have a different view than others.

As you all know, I love movies! I always try to find the good in the movies I see, and if in the end, if the movie entertains me, I will most likely give it a good review! I like to be entertained and moved when I go to the cinema! That’s why I’m going! I’m not looking for all the flaws in a film. I will be entertained and inspired.

It’s rare that I don’t like a movie, and when that happens, I usually unleash fury. When that happens, it’s because the movie was just a big disappointment for me. It takes a lot for me not to like a movie.

The three main things I look for in a movie are a good story, script, and character development. But everyone has their own standards that they follow and the things that they look for in a movie, and not everyone’s tastes are the same.

There are two movies that I recently enjoyed that other critics hated: Deadly Engines and the next movie Glass. I saw something in those movies that a lot of other critics didn’t. Sometimes I wonder if we even saw the same movie!

The thing is, if I had listened to what all the other reviewers said about these movies and ignored them based on another person’s negative opinion, I would have missed a movie that I would have really appreciated! It would suck!

Movie reviews are just other people’s opinions, and while they can set your expectations for the movie, it’s your own opinion that really matters. My opinion doesn’t matter, and the opinions of other reviewers don’t matter. Sure, it’s fun to read reviews and see what people think of movies that come out, but you don’t have to listen to them!

Go to the movies and make up your own mind, and then we can all discuss it amongst ourselves, with our families and friends. It’s fun to talk about the movies we see and share our thoughts with each other even if we don’t all agree!

I see movie reviews as a conversation starter for the movies we see, not something to tell you whether or not to go see a movie. If you’re a movie fan, go see the movies you want to see, no matter what the critics say! Don’t let anyone talk you out of it!

If in the end you don’t like the film, too bad it happens. But there’s always the possibility that you’ll end up really enjoying a movie that the critics didn’t like.
