fans of Jordan Pelethe latest thriller, Nopewill be happy to know that you can now discover “the bewitching spectacleof his tertiary film from the comfort of your own home again and again, as the film is now available to purchase digitally.
According to a press release provided to The root, the highly anticipated film is available for the first time as a Collector’s Edition on digital and is set to be released on 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and DVD next month. This special edition includes a blooper, a handful of deleted scenes, an in-depth look at the creation of Jean Jacket (if you know, you know), a deep dive into the importance of The horse in motion by Eadweard Muybridge and an immersive 56-minute documentary where Peele responds to some the filmthe most pressing questions of while offering a deep dive into his artistic process.
“This film is about a lot of things, I think the soul of the film is representation in itself. This film is not about race, although race obviously interacts with this idea of spectacle and exploitation,” explained Peele in a clip provided at The root. “The movie itself is supposed to be big budget original content, quite frankly, featuring people of color, directed by a person of color and crazy stuff.”
As previously reported by The rootless than a month after the film’s release, Nope crossed the $100 million threshold at the domestic box office, making it Peele’s third project to hit the $100 million mark. It is also one of the only four original films that have accomplished this feat since the pandemic began. And if the rumors are true, we could be in for a repeat of that feat. if a potential Nope the sequel materializes. I’ll cross my fingers and head for the sky just in case.
