However, do you know the budget of the long-awaited film?
SHAKTIMAAN FILM TO MAKE WITH A BUDGET OF RS 300 CRORE
In February this year, Sony Pictures India announced that it would support the film adaptation of the popular superhero TV show Shaktimaan. In a recent chat with Amar Ujala, Mukesh Khanna, the OG Shaktimaan, shared that the film is being made on a budget of Rs 300 crore. He said, “This project came to me after many years. People were telling me to do Shaktimaan 2. I didn’t want to bring Shaktimaan back to TV. After some internal discussions, I joined the folks at Sony and more late I did People want to know what happens next Now what do I tell them It’s a big movie at least Rs 300 crore I can’t say much until everything is finalized.
“SHAKTIMAAN WILL BE DESI”
Asked about the movie, he further added, “This movie is made by the creators of Spider-Man. But, Shaktimaan will be desi. I prepared the story of the movie in my own way. My only condition for them was that “they wouldn’t change history. People wonder who will become Shaktimaan? That’s also a very big question in itself, which I won’t answer, but it’s also certain that without Mukesh Khanna, there won’t be no Shaktimaan. Because if somebody else becomes Shaktimaan, then the whole country won’t accept it.”
When asked if a Hollywood director will helm the film, Mukesh Khanna said that if the story of the film is about India then the director should also be from here as the director from outside will not be able to understand the Indian context.
