Ponniyin star Selvan Jayam Ravi’s film Iraivan with director Ahmed bagged by THIS leading OTT platform?

Fans of Jayam Ravi, who are thrilled with the response the actor received for Mani Ratnam’s Ponniyin Selvan, have one more reason to smile. We learn that the OTT rights of the actor’s next Iraivan have been locked. Ahmed is the head of the project in which Nayanthara joins Ravi after Thani Oruvan.

According to a reliable source, the team is in talks with Zee5 and it is rumored that both parties are likely to sign the deal for a record price in the star’s career. This is the actor-director duo’s second collaboration after Jana Gana Mana, a big-budget spy thriller that has yet to hit screens.

The digital rights to Ponniyin Selvan belong to Amazon Prime Video and the hit project is expected to drop on the platform in the first week of November. The film is Ravi’s first theatrical release in the post-pandemic era.

Although Kalyana Krishna’s Agilan was supposed to hit screens in September, its release was postponed for reasons well known to the team. It remains to be seen if the action thriller set in the context of a port will be released later this year.

The actor still has a few films in his kitty. JR 30 by Rajesh (working title) and Siren by Antony Bhagyaraj are two of his films that have been released recently. The former features Priyanka Mohan as the female lead while the latter has Keerthy Suresh paired opposite him.

The star, who garnered positive feedback for Arunmozhi Varman’s portrayal in Ponniyin Selvan, is set to get more screen space in the franchise’s second installment.
