After SS Rajamouli’s RRR, Salaar is the next big thing in Telugu cinema. Starring Prabhas in the lead role, Salaar is directed by Prashanth Neel of KGF fame. Ahead of Independence Day, the makers announced they would be sharing an update on the film. Now, as promised, the release date for the big budget project has been revealed. Prabhas’ feature will be released on September 28, 2023.
Along with the release date, the makers unveiled a poster for the film, reminiscent of KGF posters. Prabhas is seen carrying a gun holster on the poster. In addition to carrying four pistols, the actor also wields two machetes. We see him standing in a war zone amid ruins and scattered bodies.

The film will compete with Fighter by Hrithik Roshan at the box office since the latter will also be released on the same date. Also starring Deepika Padukone, Fighter is directed by Siddharth Anand. The film is billed as the country’s first airline franchise. Looks like we’ll be in for a huge box office showdown next September.

Salaar also stars Shruti Haasan as the female lead, named Aadya. Jagapathi Babu, who has earned a reputation as a stylish villain, is cast as the antagonist in the film. Composer Ravi Basur and cinematographer Bhuvan Gowda, who worked in the KGF franchise, have been tapped for the upcoming film.
After Baahubali: The Groundbreaking Success of Chapter 2, Prabhas had a disappointing performance at box officer with Radhe Shyaam. The film received a negative response from audiences and critics. Hence, there is huge anticipation for Salaar to see if the Telugu star gets his mojo back.
