Rocketry by R Madhavan: The Nambi effect attracts attention from all sides. Although it started off on a slow note, collections picked up over the weekend. On Monday (July 4), the movie managed to keep the momentum going despite being a weekday. Trade reports suggest that Madhavan’s film should maintain its momentum in the first week.
MADHAVAN’S ROCKETRY KEEPS THE PACE AT THE BOX OFFICE
On July 4, superstar Rajinikanth took to Rocketry and shared a special note urging everyone to watch the movie. He also thanked Madhavan for making a film about ISRO scientist Nambi Narayanan.
Made on a budget of Rs 60 crore, Rocketry was released on almost 3,000 screens across the world. Apparently, the fourth day collection is estimated at around Rs 3 crore. Rocketry’s total collection stands at Rs 14 crore worldwide. At this rate, Rocketry has a long way to go to break even and we’ll have to wait and see if there’s a gradual incline in the collection at the box office.
Trade analyst LM Kaushik wrote that Rocketry earned Rs 27 lakh in three days in Chennai. He wrote, “3 Day Opening Weekend in Chennai City New Releases Gross, #Yaanai – 51 lakhs. #DBlock – 44 lakhs. #Rocketry – 27 lakhs (sic).”
