But the two films that were next on our list, “The Power of the Dog” and “West Side Story,” were completely snubbed in the top category. Instead of, Kenneth branaghThe semi-autobiographical film faces off against nominees “CODA” and “Don’t Look Up” as well as more surprising nominees “House of Gucci” and “King Richard”. But “Belfast” is not invincible, having been snubbed in the supporting actor category where Dornan and Hinds lacked despite our chances of promoting. both for applications.
We were also taken aback by the lead actress race, where the guild snubbed our favorite to win, Kristen stewart (“Spencer”). Where does that leave the category? It’s “up for grabs,” says Dixon. Davidson agrees that the race is “in the air”, although he leans for Jessica chastain (“Tammy Faye’s Eyes”) because she’s giving “such a transformative performance, and this could be one of those IOU awards.” Chastain has a SAG Award as a cast member of “The Help,” but she lost her individual nominations for “The Help” and “Zero Dark Thirty,” and she has yet to win an Oscar.
