Time is running out to vote for the winners of our 20th Annual Gold Derby Film Awards. On January 27, we revealed the nominees in all 22 categories, which were chosen by thousands of Gold Derby users. And after a month, the vote will finally end on Sunday evening, February 27. So vote here if you haven’t already. And if you to have voted, feel free to edit your ballot if you wish to make any changes. No vote is final until the vote is closed.
During the nominations round, our users voted by ranked ballot where they ranked their favorites in each category. But the winners are decided by a plurality vote where everyone chooses a single candidate in each category as their favorite and the candidate with the most votes wins. The only exception to this is Best Picture, where you’ll rank your three favorites among the 10 nominees.
To refresh your memory, “Dune” topped our awards with 11 nominations, followed by “The Power of the Dog” and “West Side Story” with 10 each. All three are nominated for Best Picture, along with ‘Belfast’, ‘CODA’, ‘Don’t Look Up’, ‘Drive My Car’ and ‘Licorice Pizza’. These eight films straddle the lineup for the Best Picture Oscars. Where the academy rounded out their roster with “King Richard” and “Nightmare Alley,” our users picked “Tick, Tick…Boom!” and “Titanium”.
Over 2,000 users have already voted for the winners, and every vote counts – sometimes our margins of victory are hundreds of votes, but sometimes races are decided by a handful of ballots. So make sure yours is one of them.
