2022 Venice Intl. Film Critics Week: The first films of Philippe Petit & Yasmine Benkiran


Announced very early this morning, we had time to dive into the seven lucky feature film selections (plus opening and closing) for the Venice Intl 2022 Film Critics Week. Now in its 37th edition, the head of section Beatrice Fiorentino this time favors European cinema. The two filmmakers and titles that we recognize (we predicted them in our TIFF selections) of the selection, we find Swann Arlaud and Sarah Adler starring in As long as the sun is beating by Philip Small (see photo above) and the first feature film by Yasmine Benkiran – his film queens close the section. Of course, tomorrow is the big reveal and on Thursday we have the programming for the Giornate degli Autori. Here are the selections:
