Ali Abbas Zafar Does Not Direct Salman Khan-Katrina Kaif’s Tiger 3
Zafar may not have been able to direct the third part of the highly anticipated action-thriller Tiger franchise, backed by Yash Raj Films (YRF), due to prior commitments, but he awaits the film with impatience. While Kabir Khan directed the first film Tiger Ek Tha in 2012, Zafar spoke for the second part, Tiger Zinda Hai. The trio, which is set to hit screens on April 21, 2023, is directed by Maneesh Sharma of Fan and Baaja Baaraat Group celebrity. “Adi (producer Aditya Chopra) is like an older brother. When the third part of Tiger was happening, I had commitments that I committed to. Our deadlines could not match. But I think Maneesh, who drives the franchise forward, will do him justice. Kabir Khan, me and now Maneesh, we all brought our individuality to the films we made. I am eager to tiger 3. I think it will be very fun. I’m happy,” he added.
Is Bade Miyan Chote Miyan a new movie or a reboot of the old one? Speech by Ali Abbas Zafar
Zafar, who is awaiting the release of his Netflix movie Jogi with Diljit Dosanjh, has three projects in his kitty including Shahid Kapoor’s untitled action flick, Baden Miyan Chote Miyan directed by Akshay Kumar and Tiger Shroff, and super soldier with Katrina Kaif. The director said that shooting for Shahid’s film has been completed and work is underway on post-production. “The post-production of Shahid’s film will be completed by the end of the year. We will announce the release date as we reach the endpoint,” he said.
The directors will soon announce the casting of the female roles for Baden Miyan Chote Miyan filming starting from the first week of January, he added. Zafar said the film only shares its name with the hit 1998 film Baden Miyan Chote Miyan, with Amitabh Bachchan and Govinda. The hit action comedy was directed by David Dhawan.
“It’s a completely new movie and has nothing to do with the old movie. It’s an action movie taking place at present. Soon you will hear more news about the movie as we are launching the casting of the leading ladies, which will hopefully be done by the end of this month or the beginning of next month,” he said.

Supported by Vashu Bhagnani, Baden Miyan Chote Miyan will be out next Christmas. Speaking about Super Soldier, Zafar said the film was delayed due to Kaif’s previous commitments. “The schedule has been delayed due to prior Katrina commitments on tiger 3 and other stuff. Then she had the best thing of her life, she got married. Now we have to find a way to make Super Soldier. We are very in touch and in sync. This movie is aligned with Netflix,” the director added.
