With 13 additional films added for this year, the European Academy of Cinema is happy to announce the second and final part of this year European Cinema Prize Selection of feature films.
The pandemic, associated restrictions and date changes at several key festivals in Europe this year have had an impact on the announcement of the selected films. Last month, 40 feature films from the Feature Film Selection were already announced by the Academy. With 13 additional titles, the list of feature films is now complete and all films are recommended for nomination for the European Film Awards 2021. The films were selected by a committee made up of the board of directors of the European Film Academy and expert guests Kevin chan (distributor, United Kingdom), José Luis Cienfuegos (festival programmer, Spain), Tine Klint (sales agent, Denmark), Georgette Ranucci (distributor, Italy), Mira Staleva (distributor and programmer of festivals, Bulgaria) and Ira von Gienanth (distributor, Germany).
In the coming weeks, the more than 4,000 members of the European Cinema Academy will be able to view the 53 films selected and vote for the nominations in the categories European Film, Director, Actor, Actress and Screenwriter. The nominations will then be announced on November 9 at the Seville European Film Festival in Spain. A jury of 8 members will choose the winners in the categories European Cinematography, Editing, Production Design, Costume Design, Make-up and Hairdressing, Original Music, Sound and Visual Effects.
