Jodie Comer has reportedly been assigned a bodyguard on the set of her latest film following a series of stalker scares.
The Mail on Sunday reports that ‘The End We Start From’ executive producer Benedict Cumberbatch has ensured the 29-year-old gets his former goalkeeper.
It is understood he had a guard after a woman apparently obsessed with his TV roles as Sherlock Holmes made several trips to the actor’s home in north London.
A source spoke to the publication about Jodie’s apparent new safety: “The producers of the film want to make sure everyone is as safe as possible and, with Jodie’s unpleasant experiences, they didn’t want to take any chances, no matter how small.
“A bodyguard who previously looked after Benoît was enlisted and other measures were implemented.
“Jodie’s safety is paramount. She’s had some unpleasant experiences lately.
In April, Jodie was allegedly targeted by a fan who showed up at the Harold Pinter Theater in London while performing in the solo show ‘Prima Facie’ with a bouquet of flowers for the actress.
Weeks later, he was reportedly seen “behaving oddly” and security was alerted to his presence.
Last summer, Jodie, who rose to fame after playing hitman Villanelle in ‘Killing Eve’, received death threats from a France-based fan.
