Kantara Box Office collection: Rishab Shetty’s film business began to dive. The film saw growth over the weekend, however, revenue fell again on Monday. Apparently the Kannada movie couldn’t earn more than Rs 1 Cr at the box office. The film faces stiff competition against Ajay Devgn’s latest film, Drishyam 2. As the Bollywood film hits box office cash, Kantara has slowed down.
Kantara box office report
If initial reports are to be believed, Kantara earned Rs 60 lakh on Monday. This is not a surprise since the film has been in theaters for almost 2 months now. The plunge into collections is only natural. Now that attendance has dwindled, it seems difficult for Kantara’s Hindi dub to get to the Rs 100 cr club. Kantara Hindi collections reached a total of 81.05 cr till November 20, Sunday.
About Kantara
Kantara’s success is unprecedented. The film became a dormant hit and enjoyed positive word of mouth. Made on a relatively low budget of around Rs 16 crore, the film revolving around obscure customs, traditions and local folklore proves to be a hit even beyond Karnataka. It had the highest number of step-crossing numbers in the KGF series and was the third-highest-grossing of the year after “KGF Chapter 2” and “RRR”. The film is also doing exceptionally well overseas. It recently crossed the $3 million mark in the United States.
Kantara was released in Kannada and Hindi versions on September 30 and October 14 respectively. The film is written and directed by Rishab Shetty. Produced by Vijay Kiragandur and Chaluve Gowda, under Hombale Films, the film features Rishab Shetty, Sapthami Gowda and Kishore Kumar G in key roles.
