The European Film Academy announced the winners of the 34th European Film Awards in Berlin on Saturday evening, featuring Oscar-nominated filmmaker Jasmila Žbanić’s Bosnian war drama. Quo Vadis, Aïda? winning the award for Best European Film, as well as for Best European Director (Žbanić) and Best European Actress (Jasna Đuričić).
Other winners included Anthony Hopkins, who added Best European Actor to his Academy Award for The father (which also received the award for Best European Screenplay) and Oscar hopeful To flee, which was named Best European Documentary and Best Animated Feature.
