The BAFTAs will not give honorary film awards in 2022, Entertainment News

The British Academy of Film and Television Awards will not present honorary awards at this year’s Film and Games awards ceremonies. The British Academy has decided to introduce new vetting processes following the Noel Clarke controversy.

Noel Clarke received the award for Outstanding British Contribution to Film at last year’s ceremony despite allegations of sexual misconduct against him. The organization had been informed of this beforehand, but they continued anyway. At the time, the ‘Doctor Who’ star received the award according to the British Academy as they said they had not been given enough concrete information about the allegations.
