The Vancouver Film Critics Circle unveiled its international nominations, with David Fincher man, from Netflix, leads this year’s pack with five mentions.
The biographical drama about Herman J. Mankiewicz – the alcoholic writer sequestered in the Mojave Desert to complete his screenplay for Orson Welles’ Citizen Kane, Behind the Scenes of Fincher on 1930s Hollywood – received nominations for Best Picture, Best Director, Best Screenplay for Jack Fincher, and Acting endorsements for Gary Oldman and Amanda Seyfried.
At Chloé Zhao Nomadic country followed by three nominations, including Best Picture, Best Director and Best Actress for Frances McDormand. And Promising young woman also won three mentions, including Best Picture, Best Screenplay for Writer-Director Emerald Fennell and Best Actress for Carey Mulligan.
The winners of the VFCC International Awards will be announced on February 22, with a virtual ceremony taking place on March 8.
