Invision Studios and GetSetSkill are proud to announce Zimbabwe’s new romantic comedy feature film ‘Just Say Hello’ currently in production in Harare.
The film features a talented star cast of established and up-and-coming actors from Zimbabwe and South Africa.
The multi-award-winning cast includes acclaimed singer/actress Ammara Brown and Zimbabwe’s ‘screen queen’, Tendaiishe Chitima, the star of Zimbabwe’s first film on Netflix, ‘Cook Off’.
The icing on the cake is the involvement of Zimbabwean superstar, South African actress Chi Mhende. Rounding out the dynamic ensemble are talented male actors, star of the series, South African actor TK Sebothoma of Netflix drama Kings of Jo’Burg, Zimbabwean actor and producer Shaun Mundawarara, along with multi-talented comedian, Carl Joshua Ncube supporting in his first acting role. The film also features a fantastic cast of talented local actors and actresses, with some surprises for the audience.
“Just Say Hello,” directed by Denise Edwards, tells a story of love and growth, sprinkled with light humor and life lessons. The story written by Andrew E. Hammond and the director herself focuses on characters who find themselves entangled in resolving their fears in order to find love.
“The initial production of this film was self-funded, but as we began to tell our story to potential investors and sponsors, we garnered a lot of support,” commented executive producer Blessing Chinanga. “We would like to thank our main partner on this project, VAYA Africa, for believing in our vision and providing key support to our cast and crew throughout filming. It was a true blessing. to have a proudly Zimbabwean company supporting us throughout this We would also like to thank “Intrinz Inc” who provided immense support to our project from the United States.”
The film also received huge support from Jacque Mgido Cosmetics, owned by Zimbabwean-born, US-based makeup artist Jacque Mgido. Other strategic partners and sponsors include Ezulwini Villa who hosted the cast, Truworths, the film’s main clothing partner, Fastjet, Treat & Co, The Jamtree, Liquid Home, ERA Media, Shanashe Makeup, Lady MC Hair and Vee’s Delectables.
“Making a film during a pandemic on a tight budget had its challenges, but we pulled it off as a team and are thrilled to bring this project to the big screen and major streaming services,” said director Denise Edwards. “Just Say Hello is a universal love story that we know will appeal to audiences across Africa and the world”
Filming for “Just Say Hello” began in December 2021 and production is expected to wrap in February 2022. The film will premiere to the public in April 2022 with plans for a big screen premiere in Zimbabwe.
